Segment Actions

You’re now ready to learn about the Segment Actions that can be done after creating a segment.

Business Value: Learn what actions you can take on segments, from sending mass emails, mass text messages, and adding them to marketing journeys.

Getting Started

We have created this guide to show you what Segment Actions you can take. This is a continuation of the Creating Segments guide.

Here are some of the actions you can do with a segments:

1. Send a mass email
2. Send a mass text message
3. Add an entire list to a marketing journey
4. Edit a segment
   
5. View all leads in the list
6. Export your segment to a CSV file
7. Delete the segment
   

Sending a Mass Email

In the upper right corner, there is a drop-down menu that says Choose Email Template. Select the email you would like to send out to this list of contacts and click the Send Email button.

Sending a Mass Text Message

Next to the title of the segment, you will see a button that says Send SMS Message.

Once you click the button, you will be taken to a page where you can type up the text message you would like to send to that specific list. Once you’re ready click “Send”

Adding a List to a Marketing Journey

You also have the ability to add this list of contacts into a marketing journey. Segments make it easy to send a list of contacts through a journey all at the same time. When you click on the Add to Marketing Journey button, you’ll be able to choose the journey you want to send these particular contacts through.

Editing a Segment

Perhaps you would like to change the title of the list or maybe add another filter. You can do so by clicking the blue Edit button.

View All Contacts in a Segment

To view all the contacts in a segment, click the button with the 3 dots. The first option you see will be View Contacts.

Export Your Segment to a CSV File

To export a segment, click the button with the 3 dots and select Export List.

You will be prompted by your computer with the option to either open the CSV file immediately or save the CSV file to your computer.

We recommend saving the file first and then opening it afterward. Keep in mind that the list can only be exported as a CSV file.

Deleting a Segment

You can also delete segments. This is going to just delete the list itself; it will not going to delete any of the leads. Think of this as just deleting a filter instead of deleting the actual content.
